"You don't know what it's like out there! I've *worked* in the private sector. They expect *results*. " - Dr. Ray Stantz
The quote from Dr. Stantz, as played by Dan Akroyd in "Ghost Busters", is one of my favorite quotes. It is relevant to me this week since Monday I started a new job. I'm going to have to prove myself and most likely put in long hours while I fight myself for some sort of work/life balance. Finding and maintaining this balance has historically been one of my most glaring weaknesses.
My new office has a gym on site that I need to checkout. It is a high end gym where they provide you with almost everything (except sneakers) for workouts including shorts, shirts, socks, towels, etc. It is expensive but I think it will be worth it.
Until I get some sort of rhythm going on my day to day, my blogging, commenting, sleeping and workout scheduling will be challenging. Let me apologize now in advance but I'll be focusing on producing some "results!"
With the initial quote i thought you were going to start hammering on our politicians!!
Good luck with the new job. You will figure it out. It always takes some time to get adjusted and find your place ... you could be the crazy Tri guy at work!
Congrats on the new job! those are tough to come by these days.
hang in there bro. times will regulate everything. i have been missing my lunchtime workouts this week, having to prove myself a bit too.
A new gig is always exciting and yet, stressful. Settle in and keep us posted.
Congrats on your new job!! You will awe and amaze them with your awesomeness and good humor:) It will just take a little bit of time to get used to it...but I know that you are going to do great! Remember, sometimes change is good!
Best wishes with the new job
Wow! Big news Rockstar. I both love and hate starting a new job. Love the excitement of a new challenge. Hate having to ask someone where the bathroom is on the first day and generally that lost feeling the first couple of weeks.
Best wishes on this new adventure. I'm intrigued about the on site gym and look forward to hearing about that.
Also, wanted you to know that I love your music choices for the week. Just Beautiful.
Take care and I'll be thinking about you and hoping that your new transition goes smoothly.
Confrats on the new job! You will find a way with the work/life balance. New job or not, it's always a struggle to find, but you can do it.
Wow, that sounds like a pretty nice gym. Let us know what you think!
Good luck with the new job!!
Can't wait to hear more about that gym! Sounds like it would be pretty good!
Good luck on the new gig. A gym on site with everything bug shoes sounds very interesting. Never seen such a thing.
Yeah—this work thing seriously gets in the way of my training as well. If I did not have to support my family, I would live in a van down by the river and perform with the circus at night so I could train all day.
Good luck in your new job. You'll be alright, mate. There is another saying that I'd like to remind you off: A change is as good as a holiday.
And obviously having a gym on-site indicates that the work culture of your new place is inline with your own. :-)
Best of luck with your new job.
So great that they have a nice gym available. That is sure to help.
Good luck on the new job. If you're looking for putting some quality into your workouts without taking up a lot of time, let me know.
Congratulations on the new job! Wow, that sounds like quite the fancy gym. Seriously, they even give you shorts? Having that facility close by should be nice. Best of luck!
