Quote of the week

Vizzini: INCONCEIVABLE.

Inigo Montoya: You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.

*Sigh*. Yet another movie I have to make a point of not seeing because it has inexplicably achieved cult status.

Of course, if I saw it, perhaps the reasons it achieved cult status would not be inexplicable.

But ... I just don't want to go through the Buckaroo Banzai experience again.

Allow me to esplain ... No time. I'll just sum up.

A friend of mine arranged a screening of this Backaroo Banzai flick at his home because he was sure I'd love it. So he watched me as I watched the movie, which means, at one point, he actually watched me fall asleep. But he was still hoping I'd liked the movie and had just fallen drunkenly asleep.

So he was all, "Didja like it?"

And I was all, "Eeeep! Look over there!"

And when he did? I ran.

Sucker.

True story.

He also gave me a copy of Hitchhiker's Guide.

Eeeep!-squared.

Reading that did not make its cult status any more explicable to me.

O, yeah. What I came here to say ...

Ian's math homework ventured beyond my ability to help him with some time early in his second grade school year.

Stories of my idiocy while trying to help him have achieved cult status in my family.

The movie is great, and the book is better.

I guess I should get on the bandwagon, albeit late, and see this movie.
