Buying race photographs can be a stressful experience. Most of the time is this stress is induced by the anticipation of "great" photo. Sometimes your mindset may set the bar a little lower and you'd want a "good" photo. "Adequate" might be the level above "poor". Most race photographs, of course, fall into the "sucks" category.I bought the jpeg of this picture that was taken at Shoreman 70.3 a few weeks ago. I haven't figured which category it falls into but I think it at least is in the "not bad" bin.

I think that's a great pic! I wish I had one that good. I have never, ever considered buying a photo yet. I always hate all of them.
A focused, intense ROCKSTAR
Even before reading the other comments - "Fierce! Focused" was what came to mind. For whatever reason - I did a pretty good job smiling on my first official tri photos (even though I wasn't feeling it - tried to fake it). Got voted "most photogenic" by my sis and her extended family who did the race with me. But couldn't bring myself to hork out the $8/pic. Still wish I would have for the shot of my daughter at the kids' race the day before where she has both feet in the air on the run and a big smile with her blonde ponytail flying behind her. LOVE IT!
I feel like this goes in the bad ass category.

I think that's a good one for sure. Unfortunately, I'm with Michael on the race pictures of myself. I guess it saves me the $$.

Mate - this looks like you're "in the zone" - love official photos but I always have to try and resist the urge to make a goofy face !!
Totally in the zone in this shot! I think it goes in the great race photos bin. Much better than my crazy race shots!
That is definately in the very good category. I have yet to buy a picture of myself because I look horrible.
Yea that's a great shot! Just as good if not better than most of my official race photos.
